Why we love Aman at Sea

At a glance

Aman at Sea brings the calm of an Aman resort to the ocean. Its first yacht, Amangati, launches in spring 2027 with just 94 guests in 47 suites, looked after by 207 crew, more than two for every guest. It’s designed as a floating Aman sanctuary rather than a cruise ship.

That means no casino, no production shows, no announcements, no formal nights and no buffet. Dining is open-seating, departures are late and port stays are long.

The suites are among the largest at sea. Even the entry Deluxe Suites measure around 700 sq ft including the terrace, and every suite has full-height windows, a private teak terrace, a marble bathroom with a soaking tub and a dedicated Suite Host. The Aman Suite, reached by a private lift, runs to about 3,800 sq ft with its own sauna, massage room and wrap-around terrace with a whirlpool.

Around them: four restaurants, from the Mediterranean Alira to Japanese omakase at Akari, teppanyaki at Hiori and the open-flame Aman Grill; a Jazz Club, Cigar Lounge and Sake Bar; and the two-deck Aman Spa of almost 13,000 sq ft, the largest planned in luxury yachting, with a hammam, a banya and a Japanese garden. There’s also a 16-metre infinity pool, a marina with paddleboards, kayaks and tenders, and two helipads.

Amangati is also small enough for something larger ships can’t do: a sunset passage along Venice’s Grand Canal, past St Mark’s Square.
