The Top Five Ponant Itineraries - with your expert Sarah

Meet Sarah

Not just a cruise expert, a Ponant Cruise expert, YOUR expert.

No one knows Ponant like Sarah, which is why we’ve given Sarah her own blog series called “Sarah Says” where she will take you through the all important need to know when it comes to choosing the right Ponant cruise for you.

What makes Sarah an authority on Ponant? She knows all the nuanced differences between the Ponant itineraries, for example why you might choose to cruise the Ross Sea vs. Bellingshausen Sea or the must dos in the sub-Antarctic islands and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! (no pun intended)

Below is every thing “Sarah Says” you need to know about her all time favourite Ponant itineraries.

Sarah Says.. The Top 5 Ponant Itineraries are:

These are great itineraries to explore the lesser frequented areas in Europe. While Europe is always busy in Summer, you can get away from the major crowds and gigantic European ports but sailing on a small ship into these lesser known ports. Corsica is difficult to get to normally but with this itinerary you just need to get yourself to Nice and Ponant take care of the rest!

I love this itinerary for a different sort of Christmas! We are always asked for Christmas destinations that aren’t too wet and steamy like North QLD and Fiji at this time and aren’t too cold like Europe and North America so I always think Dubai and Middle East are a great and interesting choice. And the price on this itinerary is SO reasonable!! A great way to get a good introduction to lots of different areas in the Middle East which we in Australia can fly to on 1 flight. Simple yet elegant Christmas break!

While not technically a Ponant Ship Paul Gaugin is owned by Ponant… I love these itineraries as you get your own overwater bungalow on the ship and get to see some much of the beautiful area in a short amount of time. This particular itinerary is also roughly $1000 per person per day for a Balcony Stateroom (much cheaper than an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora!!) and you’ll get to see both Bora Bora and Cook Islands in this trip.

This is for a serious bucket list trip! This itinerary goes further into some of the most remote places in Antarctica. It goes right into the Ross Sea where you can sail as close as possible to the South Pole. Very very few other people can go this far into the Ross Sea.

I like this itinerary because it isn’t just the standard Broome/Darwin Kimberly itinerary it also includes extra stops in Tiwi Islands and a chance to visit some of Australia’s most remote communities.
