South Australia, the city of churches, vibrant vineyards and stunning natural beauty. So many things to eat, see do and we've whittled the down for you.

Day One

No matter when you fly in from, you will land in Adelaide and be driven by private transfer to your hotel, The Playford.

Set in the heart of the city it is a super stylish boutique hotel we are sure you will enjoy. No need to rush out just yet, it is a two night say so take the afternoon to explore as you wish.

For dinner, Adelaide has a great African restaurant named Africola, located on East Terrace.

The Peri Peri Chicken is incredible

Day Two

Today, we’re getting out of Adelaide.

Hire a car, and head out to the beach suburb of Glenelg for the morning. Spend the day at the beach and don't miss The Broadway Kiosk on the waterfront.

In the afternoon, jump back in the car and head over to Hahndorf, around an hour drive from Glenelg along the South Eastern Freeway.

Hahndorf was established in 1838 by Lutheran migrants, and sticks to its roots as a German inspired town. Take a walk along the main strip littered with cheese makers, leathersmiths, chocolatiers and German pubs. Stop in at Beerenberg Farm just outside town for a wide array of sauces, spreads and dressings all made and sourced locally.

Tonight, after your trip back into Adelaide (hopefully you haven’t had too many steins to drive), we’re heading to Herringbone for dinner. This quaint eatery has an extensive menu that changes with the seasons, but manages not to feel too pretentious.

Day Three

Time for a change of scenery, it is off to Fleurieu Peninsula.

The drive will only take around 1 hour, and you’ll arrive at the Hotel California Road @ Inkwell, a boutique property with only 3 suites situated at the Inkwell Winery in the McLaren Vale wine region. Each suite offers great views over the vineyards!

Once you’ve settled in, it’s time for a relaxing beach break at Sellicks Beach. Located 25 minutes away from the hotel, you drive right onto the sand!

Dinner tonight will be at The Star of Greece, an award winning restaurant located in Port Willunga. Here you can choose from a simple fish & chips, right through to a four course meal comprising the fresh catch of the day, char grilled lamb and much more.

Day Four

Since you’re staying in a wine region, it seems a shame not to at least try the wines, right?

Today, head out on a McLaren Vale winery tour run by Chooks LIttle Winery Tours, who offer private tours as well as group tours if you prefer. You’ll have the choice of 3-4 wineries for your tour (which Chooks will help you decide from if you like), as well as lunch at your choice of venue. We recommend Harry’s Deli at Wirra Wirra Winery for a light meal that will complement your wines well.

For some, the D’arenberg might be a better choice. Work your way through 5 floors at the D’arenburg Cube learning about different pairings and blends before finishing at the restaurant.

This afternoon, it's relaxation time. Head back to your suite with your wines, sit back on your private deck and watch the sunset over the vineyards.

Day Five

Your time in wine country has come to an end, you are off to Kangaroo Island, Drive down to Cape Jervis, an hour south, and jump onto the Sealink Ferry - you can take the car, but be aware that your insurance won’t cover your hire car whilst you are on the ferry. If you don’t want to take the car, there are other transport options available on the island.

We suggest the Sea Dragon Lodge on the Eastern side of the island in Pink Bay. This boutique property offers private villas overlooking the bay, with all inclusive packages available. Explore the area on the many walks available, or jump on one of the organised tours of the local area - the Secret Seals tour takes you to nearby private property housing a seal colony.

Tonight, dinner will be served at Sunset Food & Wine, where you’re able to order a 6 course degustation for only $95! Best food and view on the island.

Day Six

Today’s the day to head home - you are able to head back to Adelaide via the same way you arrived onto the island, which will take you around 4 hours for the full journey. Alternatively, Kangaroo Island does have it’s own airport in Kingscote, which offers regular scheduled services to Adelaide. You can then connect onto your home city from there.
